Our Story
Bake Bakery was first established in Seacliff Park in 1994 by Peter McDonald. Baking was a big part of the family from the very start and Peter’s children were always involved from a very young age. The passion for baking was passed on through the family, first with Belinda who became an apprentice in 1999 then her younger brother Jason in 2003. Over the next few years, Belinda and Jason took over the business from Peter, allowing him to semi retire in 2008. Now, Jason and his partner Trina own and manage Bake Bakery, still with the presence of Belinda and the old man Peter. The passion has also passed onto the next generation with Jason and Belinda’s nephew Liam. At 13 years of age, he spends some of his spare time in the bakery helping with the baking. Bake Bakery has continued to grow and there is exciting times for the family and business ahead. Jason and Trina are starting a family, expecting their first child in November 2016; and the business is expanding with a new store opening at Coromandel Valley. We look forward to continuing this family bakery for many years to come.
Our Team
Our team at Bake Bakery pride ourselves in customer service as well as our quality products. The combination of our bakers and shop staff working together creates a great workplace and makes your experience an enjoyable one every time you come through the door. The team is lead by the owner and head baker Jason McDonald along with his partner and manager Trina Bell, who have put in endless time and effort to get us to where we are now.
There is over 200 years of experience combined by our talented bakers and are always hard at work 24/7. Anytime day or night, you can drive past and see our bakers through the window creating all your favourite products. The baking team shows a great passion in their work and strive to provide you with some extremely tasty products, leaving you wanting more! Also, we can’t forget the old faithful Peter McDonald making the trip from Kangaroo Island to come say hello and help out.
On the other side of the counter are our shop staff. These are the friendly faces you see every day. Our Managers are always here to help in any way possible and together with our lovely shop ladies and gents, we guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face. Every person is an integral part of the Bake Bakery family and together, we create beautiful products and ensure it is an enjoyable experience for everyone who walks through the door.
